It's April, and You're No Fool—Puzzle 1
This paragraph is unusual. How quickly can you find out what's so unusual about it? It looks so plain you would think nothing's wrong with it. In fact, nothing IS wrong with it! It is unusual, though. Study it, think about it, and you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out. Try to do so without any coaching.
OK...this one went fast. Mark Schulte nabbed the prize on this one, although Derek Wacaster and Brent Pelloquin saw the fact that the most commonly used letter in the English language, E, does not appear anywhere in this paragraph.
Congrats to Mark for being speedy as well as right, and another puzzle goes up at 11:00 central time.

I like Matt's answer..he's right! It's so blue. Sometimes, sadly, we overlook the obvious, much to our detriment.

Evan, I felt a jolt in the sea of universal consciousness...perhaps that was you figuring this out. Sorry buddy...try again at 11cdt.

Listen to me...I figured out the answer before I even read the comments. Considering my limited brain activity, this is a big deal...so, you know...make with the presents.

Ron, my oversight...sorry.

The word "the" is never used. (and I'm not mentioned in it at all, how weird is that?!!)

Ooooh Derek...you're right too, but Mark got the jump on everyone.

Mark Wins! Brent, you were right too but apparently 5 minutes behind Mark.
Another puzzle goes up at 11am central. Be here!

I got it - I think! It has eight (8) instances of the word "IT" in it! At least that's what I got after I really "thought about it" and "studied it" :)

There are no "e's" in the paragraph. Odd because that's a common letter.
Posted by: Derek Wacaster | April 01, 2010 at 09:21 AM
There are no "E"'s used in any of the sentences.

Ok, I'm going for the obvious. The paragraph is blue.

There is not an e anywhere in the paragraph.
